The opportunity:
South Coast Region is responsible for planning, design, construction, maintenance of state-controlled road infrastructure and ensuring efficient operation of the road network.Work role responsibilities:
In the role of PO4 Senior Engineer (Civil) you will provide technical advice to ensure efficient and effective asset management of state-controlled road infrastructure within the Region. This position is based in the Asset Management team with a strong focus on providing technical expertise to support design, construction, and maintenance processes.
Accountabilities include:
- Conduct assessments of road infrastructure and prepare reports on recommended engineering solutions.
- Develop asset management strategies for transport infrastructure that minimise costs.
- Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of program outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
- Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to facilitate the delivery of road projects to a high and consistent standard for both Transport and Main Roads and clients.
- You will be an effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders on matters relating to transport infrastructure activities.
- Managing projects, you will be responsible to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates to achieve organisational objectives.
- Reporting to the Principal Engineer (Asset Management) you will complete tasks as directed
- A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
- Provision of own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Criminal History Screening must be undertaken by the successful candidate.
