Strawberry Time require 20 Full time staff working a minimum 38 hours a week. Successful applicants will work across both our Harvest and Maintenance teams. The positions are for a period of minimum one year commencing in July 2025. Workers that wish to relocate for these positions must be prepared to relocate at their own expense.The work will be based in the Logan- Scenic Rim Region
Work will be primarily Farm Maintenance and Berry Picking.
The duties of the work will include but are not limited to: Picking, Packing, Planting, Weeding and general farm duties on a strawberry farm
Applicants must:Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Be fit and healthy; not be colour blind or vision impaired (as the role requires employees to pick berries at specific stages of ripeness), be able to multi-task with attention to detail, be able to acquire good speed and to learn manual tasks, be able to follow instructions, learn and apply new processes quickly, be able to work in a team environment.
Applicants must be available to work 5-7 days per week. The hours will start around 4:30am to 6:30pm (as needed). Employees must be physically fit and capable of performing the repetitive and demanding nature of the work. This may include carrying weight of up to 20kg, climbing a ladder, bending and squatting for long periods of time throughout the heat of the day.
You must have your own reliable transport. Part of our commitment to safety in the workplace, please be aware that all workers will be subject to Random Drug and Alcohol screening.When farm work is conducted, it will be paid as an hourly rate, Full time hourly rate under the Award is $23.46 per hour.
Initially all work will be offered at the hourly rate including picking, packing, weeding, Trimming and planting with the possibility of piece work as or if required. When picking we may pay by the weight of fruit picked and packed to the standard required, rates do fluctuate depending on the crop situation.
The minimum rate for the average competent worker is $26.98 per hour, with a minimum hourly rate of $23.46
All work is performed under the Horticulture Award 2020 Level 1 and the minimum rate is $23.46 per hour. Upskilling and additional allowances may also be paid if you are trained in extra tasks, leading hand or first aid.
