BSL Australia is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior team to develop detailed technical drawings, plans, and designs for mechanical components used in scaffolding and formwork systems.
This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical drafting, attention to detail, and proficiency in CAD software. The candidate will also play a crucial role in ensuring that all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Qualifications & Experience- A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Drafting or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical drafting, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar drafting software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Experience in working within Australian safety and compliance regulations.
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and technical designs for mechanical components
- Assist in the design and development of scaffolding and formwork equipment, ensuring precision and safety.
- Select appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for mechanical assembly and fabrication.
- Assemble and install new and modified mechanical components, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Estimate material costs, machine requirements, and project timelines to support efficient production.
- Conduct field and laboratory tests to evaluate product performance and durability.
- Collect and analyse technical data, perform calculations, and create detailed reports.
- Ensure that all designs and final work meet industry specifications, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and production staff to optimise manufacturing processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Maintain documentation and records related to mechanical designs, modifications, and compliance.
- Strong technical drawing and drafting skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and structural integrity.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
