Our client, The Trustee for Wood Family Trust T/A Midas Service Centre North Fremantle, is currently seeking a Qualified Motor Mechanic to join their well-established and highly regarded workshop. Known for delivering reliable, high-quality vehicle servicing and repairs, the centre handles everything from routine tune-ups and oil leaks to engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, and more.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:- Conducting thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to accurately identify mechanical faults and determine required repairs.
- Performing repairs across a range of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid level checks to maintain optimal vehicle performance.
- Installing new parts and components when necessary, such as belts, hoses, batteries, and filters.
- Conducting road tests post-repair or maintenance to ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.
- Documenting all services, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate vehicle service histories.
- Explaining diagnosed issues and repair solutions to customers, providing cost estimates, and offering advice on ongoing maintenance and care.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification
- At least 1-2 years’ experience working in a professional automotive workshop
- Must have a valid Australian full driver’s licence
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with automotive tools and diagnostic equipment
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
