Auto Electrician
Demonstrated experience in diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems of any of the following heavy mining mobile equipment brands.
Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, CAT, John Deer and LVsAt least 2 year mining environment experience while working on some of the above equipment brands.
Must be organized and be safety conscious at all times while working in a team or individually.
Key Roles Include; Diagnosing equipment faults and carrying out appropriate repairs as per OEM procedures.Attending to equipment breakdowns.
Carrying out engine, transmission and driveline systems electrical repairs as required.
Reporting all equipment issues to the maintenance manager.
Organizing appropriate parts for repairs of electrical faults on equipment.
Repairing starting, charging and lighting systems including warning lights on vehicles and earth moving equipment.
Working with other team members to achieve set goals. Diagnose and repair HVAC systems on above mentioned equipment.
Operate Tools and Equipment:Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks. Safely operate machinery and follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials.
Read and Interpret Technical Manuals:Refer to technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to understand equipment specifications and troubleshoot complex issues. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
Document Work and Maintain Records:Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and equipment status. Maintain organized documentation for compliance and future reference.
Collaborate with Team Members:Coordinate with other auto electricians, technicians, mechanics, and supervisors to prioritize tasks and support workflow efficiency. Communicate effectively to share information and feedback.
Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
Identify and address potential hazards and participate in safety training programs.
Provide Technical Support: Assist colleagues and clients with technical inquiries and troubleshooting guidance.
Offer expertise and recommendations to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Qualifications: Must have Australian recognized Trade qualification of a Heavy Diesel Fitter and a Valid Australian drivers license.
Proven experience as an Auto Electrician.Strong electrical aptitude and technical skills.
Familiarity with the electrical side of diesel engines systems, hydraulic systems of heavy machinery.
Proficiency in reading technical manuals and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certification or formal training in Auto Electrical work is preferred.
