Financial Accountant
Your opportunity:
You'll be joining a business that provides 1 day work from home, great culture and understands work life balance. They're located in the CBD, within a short walk from Central Station. You will work alongside an experienced, approachable Financial Controller who likes to work with and develop people, giving them exposure to different areas across the business.
You will join on a six-month contract to oversee the accounting and month end for two entities within the organisation. This is a newly created position to support the finance team, and you will play a key role in the month end accounting and analysis.
Your duties:
This is hands on position which will give you exposure to other areas within finance.- Performing month end closing activities, which will include bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting the preparations for external audits.
- Contributing to month end variance analysis and project reporting.
About You
You are a qualified, or part qualified accountant who takes ownership and pride in their work. You have a solid understanding of financial accounting principles and the month end process. You enjoy working in a busy organisation and are keen to get exposure across the wider finance functions.
Qualifications and Experience- Qualified, or part qualified CPA/CA (or equivalent).
- Autonomous, with a solution focused mindset.
- Strong understanding of the month end closing process.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
