Financial Controller - Newcastle
Arrowquip is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Financial Controller who will play a key leadership role within out organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day finance functions including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation, accounting standards (e.g., AASB), and internal policies.
- Coordinate year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Partner with Operations and Manufacturing teams to analyse cost of goods sold (COGS), production expenses, and overheads.
- Identify and implement cost control measures and process improvements
- Monitor inventory valuation and support procurement planning.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to assess revenue performance, gross margins, and customer profitability.
- Support pricing strategies and evaluate the financial impact of commercial terms and contracts.
- Provide insights for sales forecasting and pipeline management.
- Adhere to relevant statutory legislative and Arrowquip policy requirements to ensure that services are always provided in a safe manner
- Coordinating the implementation of occupational health and safety requirements
- Report any potential risks, incidents or hazards by completing an incident/hazard report and informing the Executive Team.
- 5 years+ experience gained in the manufacturing industry
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting – CA/CPA or equivalent qualified – desirable
- Strong understanding of accounting standards
- Highly commercial, analytical, and capable of making data driven decisions
- Ability to manage complex business relationships and managing an experienced team
- Sound judgment skills with the ability to support the wider business achieve their objectives
- Ability to influence, develop and coach team members to ensure the delivery of a positive and engaged customer experience
