Network Connectivity Engineer
THE COMPANY:
This company is a well-known, high profile, and prestigious ASX-listed Financial Services organization who employ 900+ staff across Australia.
This role is based North of the CBD near St Leonards train station (+ free parking available) and offers hybrid working.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Network Connectivity Engineer, you'll be working in a team to establish and ensure Network Connectivity inside the data center environment and co-locations then provide ongoing support across different product offerings.
Workdays are Tuesday to Saturday.
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network access, network connectivity, and network performance issues.
- Deliver network infrastructure to ensure access to external customers.
- Configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls inside the data center environment.
- Gateway installation and configuration.
- Provide technical support of network infrastructure.
- Be involved in change, delivering new, and innovative network technology solutions.
- Visit client sites as needed (installations, patching, connectivity, testing etc).
- Working hours: rotating shifts between 7am to 3:30pm, 10am to 6:30pm, and 1pm
- 9:30pm Tuesday to Saturday
- which includes hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
- Participate in a paid on-call roster and overtime (paid or time in lieu).
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES
Suitable for a Network Engineer with field experience capable of working independently inside a data centre environment.
Ideal for someone looking to join a high-profile & prestigious firm, work on complex enterprise network, with a supportive and friendly manager & team.
The following is required:
- Network Engineer background with hands-on data center field experience (racking, stacking, cabling, network device installation/configuration)
- In-depth experience configuring & troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
- Cisco and/or Arista vendor experience
- Competent routing protocol knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP
- Linux command line exp.
- Proven experience working independently to deliver network services.
- Clear communication skills and customer service abilities.
- Friendly yet committed & hardworking personality.
- Experience inside a Telco or Managed Service Provider is beneficial.
- Comfortable working Tuesday to Saturday.
- Comfortable with overtime (paid) when required.
- CCNA and/or CCNP is beneficial.
