ROLE SNAPSHOT

Network Engineer responsible for the support, management, design and implementation of the organisation's network infrastructure - including data centre networks.

Involvement in operational BAU support and some project delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support, manage & implement network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) - including data centre networks.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical network issues (incl connectivity & performance issues).
  • Provision and maintain network connections.
  • Plan, document, and implement datacentre network changes.
  • Gateway installations & configurations.
  • Incident, Problem & Change Management.
  • Hands-on datacentre involvement as needed - racking, cabling, testing etc
  • Involvement in a paid on-call roster and overtime (paid or time in lieu).

REQUIRED BACKGROUND / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL QUALITIES

Suitable for a hands-on Network Engineer with competent layer 2 experience across enterprise network infrastructure, including data centre networking.

Ideal for someone with a strong sense of ownership & accountability who can work independently yet also capable of collaborating others.

The following is required:

  • Proven Networking Engineering experience - support, design, configuration, implementation of routers, switches, firewalls etc.
  • Competent layer 2 networking experience.
  • Good knowledge troubleshooting MPLS, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP
  • Hands-on experience on complex enterprise networks.
  • Data centre networking experience is beneficial.
  • Comfortable participating in a paid on-call roster and overtime when needed.
  • Relevant certifications - CCNA / CCNP.
  • Friendly & approachable team player.
This is a full-time permanent role with hybrid working and is offering $110,000 - $120,000 (plus super) + paid on-call & overtime + bonus potential.
