The Opportunity

Are you passionate about unravelling the mysteries of the universe? We invite you to be a part of the prestigious ARC Discovery Project, “On the Origin of Very Massive Black Holes,” led by renowned experts Associate Professor Bernhard Mueller, Professor Alexander Heger, and Assistant Professor Takashi Moriya from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.

As a Level A Research Fellow, you will delve into groundbreaking research on stellar evolution, supernova explosions, and black hole formation, particularly focusing on pulsational pair-instability and pair-instability supernovae. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the Monash Stellar Explosions group and its international partners, contributing to advancements in supernova theory, stellar evolution, nucleosynthesis, and multi-messenger astronomy.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct independent and team-based research, contributing to conference papers and publications
Engage in professional activities, including attending conferences and seminars
Perform limited administrative tasks related to your research

Develop research-related materials for teaching purposes with guidance
