Hey there! We’re Bears Wine Bar – a small, tight-knit wine bar in North Melbourne that’s all about good food, great wine, and warm, relaxed hospitality. We’re a hands-on crew who genuinely love what we do, and we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that energy in the kitchen.The Role
We’re on the hunt for a Casual Chef – someone reliable, organised, and happy to jump in wherever needed. You’ll be working closely with ownership and FOH, taking responsibility for prepping ingredients, keeping the kitchen clean and organised, and lending a hand during service.The right person will bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn, with opportunities to grow alongside us. Full-time hours are available; however, availability on Fridays and Saturdays is required.
What You’ll Be Doing
Prepping ingredients and assisting with simple cooking tasks
Helping plate dishes with care and consistency
Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen spotless and organised
Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
Assisting with stock rotation and basic kitchen organisation
Working closely with FOH to ensure smooth, cohesive service
Being part of a small, supportive team that values collaboration and good vibes
What We’re Looking For
Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential — a great attitude is key
Comfortable working solo or as part of a small team
Reliable, relaxed, and ready to roll on weekends
Able to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure
Someone who wants to be part of something growing – not just clock in and out
