The Academic Director is responsible for the academic leadership and ASQA compliance of ASIA. This role involves research on Australian VET market, managing academic staff, developing and implementing strategic plans, ensuring quality training and assessment, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.The Academic Manager oversees the RTO's scope of registration, resources, and compliance with external regulatory bodies.
Minimum qualifications are tertiary degree with at least 3 years of senior level experience in a relevant industry. This full-time position is based in Sydney with a salary range of $180,000 to $200,000 plus superannuation. Only shortlisted applicants will be informed.
Academic Leadership and Compliance:- Ensure overall ASIA’s compliance with all relevant external bodies and legislative requirements.
- Manage risk through internal audits, ensuring services align with ASQA requirements.
- Oversee all aspects of ASIA’s compliance, including understanding and interpreting the VET Quality Framework and ASQA regulations.
- Maintain academic and ASQA compliance.
- Oversee all aspects of ASIA compliance, including understanding and interpreting the VET Quality Framework and ASQA regulations.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring ASIA meets audit requirements.
- Recruit, train, manage, and appraise academic, administrative, marketing, and accounts team members.
- Direct and oversee the aforementioned teams.
- Provide leadership, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Conduct market research and develop strategic academic and business development plans.
- Liaise with the board of directors to determine course and service offerings.
- Contribute to new business tenders.
- Identify opportunities for new accredited and non-accredited training courses.
- Develop academic courses and units and prepare supporting documentation.
- Carry out course mapping and prepare external course reports.
- Prepare and review course timetables and delivery resources.
- Train the coordinators and trainers on how to deliver training and assess learners.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance systems, including assessment validation, trainer qualifications, and course reviews.
- Review and improve ASIA’s activities, programs, and service delivery.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement in programs and services.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in ASIA operations, training delivery, and compliance practices.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring ASIA meets audit requirements.
- Carry out research on Australian VET market to identify contemporary needs and compliance.
- Implement the research findings to develop and update strategies and maintain quality assurance systems, including assessment validation, trainer qualifications, and course reviews.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in RTO operations, training delivery, and compliance practices.
- Manage day-to-day operations and staffing, ensuring legislative compliance and quality standards.
- Foster collaborative work practices, staff empowerment, and innovation.
- Lead and manage the education provision of the organization.
- Counsel and support relevant staff members and seek suitable recognition, accreditation, and progression arrangements.
- Manage RTO scope of registration resources ensuring currency with accredited training reporting & auditing requirements.
- Stay informed about the VET sector, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices.
- Develop, review, and maintain RTO policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and consistency.
- Support the training team in maintaining qualifications and currency, and in implementing training programs.
- Manage relationships with ASQA, other regulatory bodies, higher education institutions that ASIA has progression/articulation agreements and industry partners.
