We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join our team and support financial planning, reporting, and business decision-making.
Position Overview:
Gourmet Dinner Services Australia Pty Ltd (GDS)is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Management Accountant. The Management Accountant is a Full-Time position and will be responsible for providing in-house services related and not limited to performance-based financial reporting, asset valuation, financial analysis, budgetary systems, pricing and leading the sales and operations plan (S&OP)
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the Managing Director to create the annual budget and annual operating plan, with responsibility to lead and complete the GDS annual budget process and annual operating plan process.

Developing financial projections using financial data and historical trends to develop financial projections for the GDS, as well as providing insights to the Managing Director and the Owner to guide their decision making.

Providing forecast modelling for production plan, stock management and cash flow to the Managing Director and Owner
Conducting regular audits to align the GDS accounting system to ensure compliance and the accuracy of financial reports.
Provide financial modelling and commentary for GDS growth planning including, where required for possible acquisition of other prospective businesses.
Preparing and assisting the Managing Director to complete Quarterly Business Activity Statement (BAS).
Conduct regular (monthly) cost analysis to identify areas of opportunity to reduce expenses and develop strategies to reduce costs to improve efficiency and drive increased productivity.
Monthly, quarterly and half year detailed reports that provide details and commentary of GDS profit and loss performance for the stated period.
Present to managing director, detailed analysis of gross sales, marketing spend, operational costs and cost of sales highlighting risks and opportunities.
Creating and managing the processes for stock management including movements between warehouses, stock rotation and ensure stocktakes are completed
Developing purchasing forecast and financial models to manage supplier negotiations, supply requirements and manage within forecasted budget requirements to reduce cost.
Building weekly, monthly and quarterly production forecast based on sales forecast and cash flow.
Building detailed sales forecasting models to manage expected cash flow requirements.
Developing forecasts for capital works projects including cash flow requirements, cost benefit analysis and supporting financial modelling.
Conducting research and advising the best suitable software to support accounting system for ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Managing the Sales and Operation Planning process for the GDS including communications and accountability to other departments such as production team and warehouse teams

Conducting asset valuation of the GDS

Reviewing of all data (ie sales based on product type, customer group, seasonal promotion) for Sales and Operation Planning to ensure data integrity and continuous improvement of all data and information used to build efficient Sales and Operation Planning process.

Producing sales and customer reports as required, for example - product sales based on customer group – National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)/Home Care Package clients – to enable accurate forecasting for production
Leading and developing others including detailed succession plans, cross functional training and annual review process.

Supporting Managing Director in implementation of strategic change within the business, management of continuous improvement program and all reporting requirements (ad hoc).

Requirements: Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a management accounting role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Experience with Xero or other cloud accounting software is essential

Familiarity with production forecasting software, payroll software and other operational cloud software and financial systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong detailed operational understanding and background
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
