Vic Wide Mobile Diesel Repairs situated in Sunshine West VIC is currently seeking to hire qualified and experienced Product Design Engineer to join their servicing department.
Job Purpose:
The Product Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and analyzing products related to steelfabrication, including steel bins, hooklift bins, and related structures. The role includes project management, cost
control, and ensuring that designs meet safety, quality, and client specifications. This position contributes to the
company’s innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Product Design:
- Develop detailed designs and technical drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Create efficient, functional, and cost-effective solutions for steel fabrication products, including bins and
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards and client requirements.
- Analysis & Optimization:
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to validate product designs.
- Optimize designs to improve structural integrity, functionality, and cost efficiency.
- Identify and resolve design-related challenges during the development phase.
- Project Management:
- Manage product development projects from concept to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality control, and procurement.
- Monitor project timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
- Cost Control:
- Analyze material and manufacturing costs to identify savings opportunities.
- Develop budgets for new projects and ensure compliance throughout the development process.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of designs, analysis reports, and project timelines.
- Prepare reports for management and clients on project progress and outcomes.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified Product Design Engineer
- A Certificate IV in Design (CUA40715) or relevant
Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
