Forestry Worker
K & S CONTRACTING (QLD) PTY LTD Gympie
The opportunity for 6 full time Forestry Workers is available for 38+ hours a week. The position is based from the Gympie region with some travel required to other parts for QLD as required. There may be opportunity for upskilling for the right applicant.
The Duties: Duties will include
- Tree planting
- Weed spraying
- Brushcutting
- General plantation maintenance
- Hazard reduction burning, wildfire response and surveillance
The Requirements: The successful applicant will have
- A high level of physical fitness
- Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions such as steep terrain, thick vegetation, and hot/humid conditions
- Availability to work weekends are required
- Availability for away work in remote areas
- Ability to undertake job specific training including fire fighting
- The proven ability to pass pre-employment and on-going random drug and alcohol testing
- A strong commitment to team performance and communication
- A high level of self-motivation with an excellent work ethic
The Pay: Payment will be in accordance with the Silviculture 2020 Grade 2 Award.
Applicants outside of the work area must demonstrate a commitment to relocate if required.
