MMG Rosebery Mine is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in the west coast of Tasmania, Australia. It has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 workers and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
production Coordinator- Processing
This role reports to The Superintendent Processing and is responsible for providing functional support to operational crews under their guidance. The primary focus is to actively contribute to the operation, optimization, and improvement of zinc, lead, copper concentrates, and gold dore production in a manner that is safe, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable.
This role is offered on a permanent residential 7/7 roster. Candidates living within Tasmania that DIDO can also be considered.
Competencies, qualifications and skills:
- Certificate III in Metalliferous Mining/Resource Processing
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessing
- Unrestricted Tasmanian “C” class licence or higher.
- Other Tickets & Licenses: First Aid Level 2, Forklift, Skidsteer Loader Operator, Working at heights, EWP, Confined space entry.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Comply with the site and group standards and procedures, consistent with all terms of your contract of employment.
- Encourage innovations and continuous improvement through the Mill Operational Teams.
- Assist with communication flow to ensure that Mill Operations teams operate plant and equipment within prescribed targets and parameters, assisting the site with achieving safety, business, and production targets and goals.
- Seek to understand and eliminate differences in operational practices across the Operations Teams.
- Assist production teams to support site safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Co-ordinate the recording, reporting and problem solving of daily variances.
- Manage and ensure adequate and current team skill and competency levels by arranging appropriate training and experiential opportunities.
- Ensure hazards and sources of loss associated with the process are identified, reported, evaluated and controlled.
- Lead Investigations (where directed) and support Supervisors to conduct investigations into Production Loss and Safety / Environmental related Incidents.
- Provide clear and effective instruction (as directed by the Superintendent – Processing) to the Mill Operations team, consistent with MMG vision and values and Code of Conduct
- Develop a strong team working culture within the Mill Operations team.
- Execute project work to embed improvements in operational / environmental / safety practices.
