Sydney - Mechanical Engineering Technician
Full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician position available with competitive salary. Work in a dynamic team in Turella NSW, 2205.
Elevatorworx specializes in lift removal, installation, and modernization. The company removes existing lifts, either fully or partially, and installs new systems in commercial and residential buildings. Elevatorworx also handles related building works, such as removing frames and extending shafts.
During the removal process, existing lifts are kept operational and used to assist with dismantling. Services include the removal of various lift types, code upgrades for elevators and escalators, and the installation and modernization of lifts for both commercial and residential properties.
About the role
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking a dedicated, self-driven and highly organized Mechanical Engineering Technician to be part of their growing team.
Duties and Responsibilities- Mechanically install all lift components as per design specifications on an array of products.
- Understand and follow safe removal process’ and requirements.
- Read and Interpret layout drawings old and new and be able to recognise errors in builder’s design of lift shaft.
- Set out lift shafts (plumb) for installation.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery
- To be able to supervise a multiple lift project.
- Carry out site specific risk assessment and daily JHA in all areas of the work.
- Liaise with lift company project manager and provide updates.
- Have a clear understanding of hours allocation and financial constraints.
- Carry out handover of completed elevator to consultant and or end user.
- Be prepared to undertake any addition training to enhance skill and safety awareness.
- Always represent the company in professional manner
- Experience in removing existing elevators (OH traction, Hydraulic, MRL).
- Have a good clear understanding of elevator safety.
- Clear understanding of importance of car and counterweight balance when removing and elevator.
- High level of skill in the erection of all elevator shaft steel work, high rise and low rise.
- High level of installation process to be able to co-ordinate site deliveries and material placement.
- Have ability to follow installation manuals.
- Have restricted electrical knowledge to advise external electrical contractors.
- Have sufficient knowledge to advise finishing trades on lobby details.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work to fine detail (1mm)
- Ability to cross reference layout drawings
Qualifications needed:
- Minimum Diploma level or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum one year of work experience on relevant position
- High Risk Licence DG, RB
- WAH licence

Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000-$90,000 plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
