About the Role

The Senior Account Manager is tasked with leading and managing a portfolio of SXSW Sydney Commercial Partners. This role is key to ensuring the successful end-to-end delivery of Partner sponsorship benefits, managing all aspects of sponsorship campaigns, and serving as the primary contact for Partners.

Position is located in Sydney CBD.
  • Hybrid Working Model: 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home
  • Event Week: On-site presence is required during event week (October 13-19, 2025), including evenings and weekends.
  • Core Business Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:30pm, with flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods, particularly from August to October.

Requirements

What does a day in the life look like?

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Primary Partner Contact: Serve as the lead point of contact for 30+ Partners, managing internal stakeholders for the effective delivery of all sponsor benefits.
  • Project Management Leadership: Oversee and manage all activities related to assigned Commercial Partners. This includes creating processes and solutions to deliver successful sponsorship campaigns, content management, and administration support.
  • Collaborative Facilitation: Lead discussions with internal teams to facilitate the fulfillment of assets across multiple workstreams: brand & marketing, ticketing, activations & events, programming, and hospitality & networking.
  • Process & Communications Development: Help build processes and communication strategies for other Account Managers in the team, ensuring consistency and best practice across all Partner interactions.
  • Account Ownership: Take full ownership of an account from the date of signature, leading WIPs, and being the primary contact person for all deliverables due as part of the partnership.
  • Multitasking & Client Service Excellence: Manage potentially 30+ accounts simultaneously, ensuring first-class customer service while juggling competing priorities and meeting deadlines across multiple partners and workstreams.
  • On-site Event Week Support: Provide on-site support during event week, ensuring seamless execution of partner deliverables and acting as a client-facing representative.

About you

What are we looking for?
  • 5+ years of account management experience in Major Events / Festivals / Activations Agency with a deep understanding of sponsorship activation and event logistics.
  • Extensive project management experience: Strong ability to manage multiple, large-scale projects simultaneously, overseeing end-to-end delivery of Partner sponsorship campaigns while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience in managing high-volume accounts: Proven success in managing multiple accounts simultaneously, ensuring exceptional customer service and delivering first-class results across diverse workstreams.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills: Demonstrated ability to engage and manage relationships with senior-level stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Ability to guide and mentor junior team members, helping them implement best practices and maintaining consistency across all client touchpoints.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills: Expertise in navigating complex issues, finding creative solutions, and adapting to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in project management and content management tools: Comfortable utilising a variety of systems (e.g., Monday.com, Microsoft Office) to track progress, manage tasks, and communicate effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear, concise messaging and the ability to tailor communication to different audiences.

Key Considerations:

This role requires you to:

  • work outside of normal business hours and on the weekends
  • spend extended periods of time on your feet at events (event week only)
