Key Responsibilities:- Design and plan rotating burger and side menus in line with seasonal produce, customer demand, and brand identity
- Forecast food and labour costs to support profitable operations and assist with weekly ordering and inventory control
- Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure dishes consistently meet Dawg Boys’ standards of quality, taste, and presentation
- Collaborate with management and FOH staff to troubleshoot kitchen workflow issues and maintain a seamless customer experience
- Lead the kitchen team in delivering smooth daily service during high-demand periods, particularly lunch and dinner rushes
- Demonstrate correct preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques to team members; mentor junior kitchen staff as needed
- Oversee adherence to strict hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with local regulations
- Train, guide, and assist in the selection of new kitchen staff to ensure cultural fit and technical competence
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient back-of-house environment that promotes teamwork and productivity
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely ordering of ingredients, packaging materials, and cleaning supplies to avoid service disruptions
- Adapt burger recipes and side offerings for special dietary needs without compromising on flavour or presentation
- Assist with developing and testing new menu items in line with customer feedback and evolving market trends
- Take responsibility for waste reduction practices, portion control, and sustainability initiatives in the kitchen
- Ensure consistency in product preparation across locations when required by following company SOPs
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation | Full-time (38 hours/week)
Skills & Experience Required:- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Chef in a busy kitchen, preferably in fast-casual or quick-service environments
- Formal qualification: AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Passionate about burgers and modern comfort food
- Energetic, reliable, and a strong team player
- Creative with a desire to bring fresh ideas to the table
- Takes pride in delivering exceptional quality and presentation
- Organised and adaptable in a fast-moving environment
- Committed to continuous improvement and learning
