SALARY $77,000 / year, plus super

• Cooking food and preparing ingredients.
• Ensuring high quality of dishes is maintained.
• Maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.
• Assisting the Head Chef in developing menus, assessing expenses for food and labour, and ordering supplies when needed.
• Communicating and collaborating with other team members in both FOH and BOH.
• Training junior kitchen members as required by demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
• Inspecting and managing inventory to ensure freshness and minimise food wastage.

• At least 2 years of experience working in a professional kitchen as a chef.
• Needs to have experience in Japanese cuisine
• Solid understanding of traditional Japanese cooking techniques
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Diploma of Hospitality Management
• Able to prepare dishes with precision and attention to detail
• Strong attention and respect for safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
