The position:
The business is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Chef to join the team on a full-time basis (38 hours per week). This role is a critical part of the kitchen operation and plays an important role in maintaining food quality, consistency, and operational efficiency.
In this position, the Chef is responsible for:- overseeing and supporting daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth service delivery;
- ordering, receiving, and managing food supplies while maintaining appropriate stock levels;
- preparing and cooking food in accordance with established recipes and quality standards;
- monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation
- demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance on appropriate cooking procedures
- liaising with management, kitchen staff, and front-of-house staff to resolve food preparation and service issues;
- ensuring strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations;
- assisting with the selection, training, and supervision of kitchen staff when required;
- freezing and preserving food using safe and appropriate food handling methods.
The position reports directly to the Head Chef and restaurant owner.
Skills and experience: This role is suited to an experienced, motivated, and well-organised Chef with strong communication and teamwork skills.The successful candidate:
- has a minimum of one year of relevant experience working as a Chef;
- holds relevant trade qualifications or equivalent industry experience;
- demonstrates sound knowledge and experience in Italian cuisine;
- is confident in food preparation, stock control, and maintaining high hygiene standards;
- is self-motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively within a professional kitchen team.
