The Client
Adelaide Truck and Trailer Repairs in Burton in SA is an automotive servicing business. They are now looking to hire a motivated individual to join their successful team as a Motor Mechanic on full-time basis.
The Role
This is a full-time role with annual salary is set at $74000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
Inspect vehicles to determine issues, which may involve using computerised diagnostic tools.
Fix or replace defective vehicle parts such as brakes, engines, and transmission systems.
Conduct oil changes, re rotations, and other regular vehicle upkeep to prevent future problems.
Ensure that repairs are effective by road-testing vehicles or running diagnostic test
Explain issues, repairs needed, and the work done to customers, on providing cost and time estimates and educating customers on car care and preventive maintenance to help avoid recurring problems.
Learn latest automotive technologies and repair methods to maintain service quality.
Follow safety protocols during repairs and handling hazardous materials correctly.
Conduct comprehensive checks on systems such as basic electrical, fuel, cooling, and exhaust to ensure proper function.
Adjust and fine-tuning vehicle systems for optimal performance, including sensors and onboard computers.
Address complex issues such as engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and advanced suspension work.
Ensure that tools and diagnostic equipment are in good working order to prevent delays.
Follow local and national automotive regulations, including emission standards and safety guidelines.
Work in teams to resolve complex issues that require specialised input.
The Requirements:
AQF Certificate III in the relevant field OR equivalent overseas qualifications
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
At least 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial workshop setting
Must have at least 1 year’ experience working with Asian, Intercontinental and European car makes
At least 1 year of experience working with motor mechanical systems
Must know how to operate diagnostic equipment
Experience working with mechanical systems
Good with hand and power tools
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
