The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Engineering Technologist to join our Brisbane Electrical team. We invite you to help us deliver projects across our diverse client portfolio, with a team of supportive, collaborative and experienced mentors.
Responsibilities:- Research, develop and implement electrical systems design and technical solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects, in accordance with Australian and international standards
- Prepare and review comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, layouts, and technical specifications
- Contribute to the standardisation of electrical design documentation, including the preparation of templates, guidelines, and work instructions
- Design and modify power distribution systems, control and automation systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Conduct site visits to collect field data, perform inspections, conduct experiments and tests to evaluate engineering performance and verify installations against engineering designs and regulatory standards
- Provide technical expertise and support throughout all project phases — from concept and detailed design through to construction, commissioning, testing and performance evaluation, and ongoing maintenance
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, suppliers, and contractors to resolve design and construction issues
- Ensure all engineering practices adhere to workplace health and safety, environmental, and quality management systems
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical related discipline)
- Electrical Apprenticeship desirable
- Min 3+ years working experience, in electrical engineering design and systems integration within industrial or infrastructure environments
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary consulting team environment in the Resources, Energy or Industrial sectors
- Experience in power distribution, PLC/SCADA systems and instrumentation
- Competent use of Electrical engineering specific software
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards, particularly AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant electrical design codes and standards
- Qualifications in functional safety or hazardous area would be highly regarded
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
